You Are Invited to a Symposium on Separation Process Technologies in the Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Industries

Dear Colleagues from Academia, Industry, and Research,

This symposium was organized in honor of Professor Andreas Seidel-Morgenstern, a leading authority in separation process science and chemical engineering, to celebrate his retirement and visit to Korea

Throughout this event, SIMACRO aims to recognize Professor Seidel-Morgenstern’s outstanding academic and industrial contributions to the field of separation processes—particularly crystallization and chromatography—while also expressing our sincere appreciation for the valuable professional relationships and collaborations that have been built over many years.

Professor Andreas Seidel-Morgenstern (https://www.mpi-magdeburg.mpg.de/employees/26710/2316) is a world-renowned scholar whose work established the scientific and industrial foundations of separation processes, including adsorption, chromatography, crystallization, and simulated moving bed (SMB) processes—as a living science that bridges fundamental theory and industrial practice. His research has provided generations of researchers and engineers with a framework to understand process phenomena and has laid the foundation for today’s discussions on digital modeling, process simulation, and digital twin technologies.

Centered around Professor Seidel-Morgenstern’s plenary lecture, this symposium will explore how his scientific legacy continues to be inherited and expanded in real industrial applications, including amino acid crystallization, chromatography for biopharmaceutical purification, chiral separations, and SMB processes. In addition, SIMACRO will share its efforts to extend the understanding of separation processes through its emerging paradigm of digital twin.

We hope this event will not only celebrate his exceptional academic career, but also provide a warm forum to reconnect, reflect, and rediscover the inspiration and relationships formed along the way.
We cordially invite you to join us in celebrating this meaningful occasion.

Thank you.
