OLI Systems’ First Visit to Korea

Founded in 1971, OLI Systems develops advanced simulation software that helps industries accurately predict and manage complex chemical behavior, prevent pipe corrosion, and support cleaner, more sustainable energy production. In 2020, SIMACRO became OLI Systems’ sales agent in Korea.
This marked OLI Systems’ first visit to Korea since the start of our partnership. The visiting team included Masaru Marui, Director of Client and Business Development, and Hikaru Yakushiji, Senior Client Solutions Architect, from Japan, as well as Trevor MacMaster, Chief Commercial Officer, and Mike Kochevar, VP of Sales, from the United States. During their visit, the OLI team connected with local customers, introduced existing and new features and solutions, and gained a deeper understanding of the pain points and limitations customers are experiencing with the current software.
Over the course of two days, SIMACRO and OLI held two customer sessions. On Day 1, we hosted an in-person session at the ST Research Center. It was an intimate and valuable opportunity for participants to engage directly with the OLI team. As current customers, they were able to ask questions, watch live demonstrations, and learn more about upcoming solutions.

On Day 2, we held an online session for customers who were unable to attend in person, mainly due to distance. The session had excellent attendance, and participants remained highly engaged throughout the full two hours, asking many thoughtful questions. Both sessions concluded with a brief introduction to PMV, SIMACRO’s platform solution, which complements OLI software well.
SIMACRO also had the opportunity to present the history of our OLI-related activities in Korea and share customer insights gathered from five years of customer engagement and database records. The OLI team found these insights valuable and helpful in shaping their next steps for the Korean market. They were also impressed by SIMACRO’s strong customer track record. Within APAC, SIMACRO holds one of the strongest OLI customer records.

Beyond the business sessions, we were pleased to introduce the OLI team to Korean hospitality and dining culture, including Korean-Chinese cuisine, Korean BBQ, and a second round at a nearby beer pocha. It was a meaningful visit that strengthened our partnership and created new momentum for supporting OLI customers in Korea.
